Statement of Organization and Purpose
The DAAR Member Resource Committee, a group of innovative, forward thinking members, whose mission is to identify needs , provide tool and services to our members by evaluating resources and procedures, offering the most current technical, market and community based information and
training in order to provide the highest level of member benefits.
Building Audit Finance Committee
Statement of Organization and Purpose
The purpose of the Audit/Building/Finance Committee of the Durango Area Association of REALTORS® is to oversee the development of the annual budget and maintenance of the Association’s
building.
1. Review reports on the financial condition of the Board
2. Review any and all functions, procedures and expenditures that effect organizational income and expenses including building maintenance.
3. Receive and give consideration to proposals from the Board of Directors as to any policies affecting the financial condition of the Board.
4. Plan for future financial requirements based on the recommendations of the Board of Directors and the Executive Officer.
5. Anticipate future financial needs and recommend methods of obtaining needed revenues to adequately support a well balanced program of activities for members.
6. Review and make recommendations concerning the use or investment of reserve funds.
7. Interface the Finance and Audit functions to give the best overall financial picture.
By-Laws Committee
Mission Statement
To make recommendations of changes, additions, deletions or amendments deemed wise or necessary and see those recommendations to fruition. Ensure compliance with the National Association of REALTORS®
guidelines.
Community Service Committee
Statement of Organization and Purpose
The purpose of the Community Service Committee of the Durango Area Association of REALTORS® is to strive to enhance the REALTOR®
image in the community by actively pursuing (on going) projects that improve quality of life in La Plata County. (Example-paint/repair a home for indigent citizen; sponsor a street clean-up; provide services to a senior citizen organization. Etc.)
1. Develop one project per quarter.
A. Identify sponsors from among Board member offices for these projects ( for instance: 3 or 4 small offices could sponsor a project or 1 or 2 larger offices another project.)
B. If materials are needed, the sponsoring offices could find donors for these supplies or provide them themselves.
C. Sponsoring office(s) would participate in implementing the project and would perform and provide all the labor for the project.
D. All projects would be advertised or publicized giving credit to each participant. This will be accomplished in cooperation with the Public Relations Committee.
2. Work in conjunction with the Public Relations Committee on American Home week. American Home week is a week each April dedicated to educating the public about private property ownership rights. The main objective of this week is education from elementary level up.
Education Committee
Statement of Organization and Purpose
The purpose of the Education Committee of the Durango Area Association of REALTORS® is to identify, provide, promote, evaluate and update programs, products and services, which are relevant to either skill development or Real
Estate practice to assist members in improving their professionalism and productivity.
Related functions of the committee are:
1. Cooperate with the Membership Committee in providing an orientation program for new members.
2. Develop, promote and implement educational programs to meet the needs of the general membership. This includes providing the courses necessary for members to obtain license renewal and GRI or MRE designations.
3. Promote interest in and attendance at continuing educational programs at local, state and national levels.
4. Coordinate all Board educational programs.
5. Offer courses that are not for credit or certification but will allow members to stay current on issues that are or may be impacting their communities.
6. Endeavor to keep costs at a minimum without compromising quality, while allowing for generation of income to the Board.

Mission Statement
To keep the general body of REALTORS® informed of any laws/bills or regulations presented and or passed in the City, County, Colorado State Assembly, and/or Nationally concerning real estate or property rights and to act on
those issues appropriately and to keep the REALTOR® membership informed of ongoing governmental activities.
