PROFESSIONALISM
REALTORS® distinguish themselves by adhering to a Code of Ethics that was first adopted by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in 1913. REALTORS® pledge to uphold these ethical and professional standards. Enforcement of the Code of Ethics is a service offered to ensure the integrity of your fellow REALTORS® and a positive experience for your customers and clients. Additionally, Durango Area Association of Realtors (DAAR) offers quarterly educational courses, allowing for members to meet the NAR Quadrennial training on the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
Awards are presented to members annually in recognition of outstanding achievement and service. Also, the Board works hard to publish photos and names of those involved with and/or attending meetings and events.  Potential awards are as follows:

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Durango Area Association of REALTORS® offers real estate professionals a full curriculum of continuing education and professional designation program, either online or in our training room with audio/visual and wireless access support.  This is one of the hallmarks of our association which features a diverse group of classes and instructors. Members receive discounted pricing on the cost of educational courses.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
One of the best benefits of being a member is having the opportunity to get to know your fellow REALTORS®. Knowing that networking is a vital part of a successful career in real estate, the Durango Area Association of REALTORS® provides you with numerous opportunities during the year to network in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. A few of our opportunities include Quarterly Update Meetings and/or events such as the Annual Board Installation , Charity Golf Tournaments, or Broker Forums.

PUBLIC RELATIONS
We go above and beyond what national and state associations already publicize. Utilizing local resources like the newspaper, radio and websites, we promote what our local REALTORS® do for our community, what they do for their clients and the benefits of using a local REALTOR®. We focus on our members and have been recognized by the Colorado Association of REALTORS® for our unique and successful efforts.

You can also access and download membership information and forms directly from the website. You can quickly and easily locate one of our affiliates and find a REALTOR® by name or office.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION
The Board Newsletter is published the first Monday of every week. Subscribing to it keeps you informed on news about upcoming meetings, events, classes, legislative CALLS TO ACTION news, Affiliate Information, New Members, as well as important dates and deadlines are some of the topics covered. Our website www.durangorealtor.com contains front page news articles, calendar of events, past publications from local and national media concerning our area, board updates and statistical data all geared towards the most up-to-date information possible.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Get involved by serving on a Committee! Housing Opportunity, Legislative, Member Resources, Community Service, Education and Audit/Building/Finance. Serving others and your board has a value all its own. DAAR also promotes volunteer opportunities through activities such as Habitat for Humanity REALTOR® build days and Relay for Life team involvement.

Membership roster available for the general membership (REALTORS® & AFFILIATES) are available on both the Paragon Website as well as the LAMPS website.

National Association of Realtors (NAR) & Colorado Association of Realtors (CAR)
Membership in the local Board also provides you with automatic membership in the 26,250 member Colorado Association of REALTORS® and the 1,200,000 member National Association of REALTORS®, the second largest trade organization in the country.
