NAR Code of Ethics Training

About NAR Code of Ethics Requirements

  • The National Association of Realtors (NAR) requires all active agents to take an approved Code of Ethics course on a biennial cycle.  In order to be compliant for this cycle, you must take an approved course in the year 2017 or 2018.  The cycle following this one is January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020, and so on. Please note that this course requirement has nothing to do with your licensing cycle.
  • The course does not have to be one for CE credit.  There is a free option on the NAR Code of Ethics Training website.  The free class does not provide continuing education credits.  Course options include those in-classroom and online through an accredited school. Discounted online classes are available at any of the providers on this page.  The CE credit version of the Ethics course at the DAAR office is worth 4 hours.
  • ALL new members must take an ethics course within 6 months of joining the Association.
  • The local Association is the governing agent that ensures your compliance.  BE SURE to send your certificate to Phylicia if the class is not taken at the DAAR office.
